This year, we’re upping the ante with our High Hand winner receiving not just $250, but also a magnificent custom belt buckle, courtesy of our awesome sponsor at Castlegar Cabins, RV Park & Campground.

Another thrilling aspect of this year’s Poker Run is that we will be traveling along Highway 33 to Big White Ski Resort..

Your first card will be available at the Rock Creek Fairgrounds. After you purchase your poker cards and lunch/snack (if desired for Big White Ski Resort), you'll head to Sweet Adeline’s in Beaverdell for a brief break and to collect your second card.

Afterward, you will get back on your motorcycles and head to your third card stop, which we will be taking a break for lunch/snack at Big White Ski Resort. We'll ride all the way to the top, reaching the Happy Valley Parking Lot, which is located 22 km up the mountain off Highway 33. The scenic secondary road will definitely make the adventure worthwhile. For those who have ridden along Highway 33 and assumed that Big White Ski Resort is solely a winter destination, think again! Visit their website to discover the exciting summer activities they offer.

After enjoying your lunch/snack a stop, we will descend the beautiful mountain and proceed to the Hall Creek Rest Stop. Upon returning to Highway 33, you'll need to make a left turn back onto the highway. Please be mindful of traffic, especially during this long weekend, as safety is our priority; not all drivers on this highway adhere to safe practices. You will continue eastward to the Hall Creek Rest Stop, which is located just before reaching Carmi.

This rest area features picnic tables, outhouses, and a great opportunity to stretch your legs, where we'll make our fourth card stop. After that, we will proceed back to the Rock Creek Fall Fair Grounds for your final card at the Information Office. There, the results will be tallied, and you might just be the lucky winner of the exclusive Custom Belt Buckle!

Good Luck to everyone.

              About the Poker Run

Participants meet at a pre-arranged point and pick up details of their route and the stops they need to make. Each participant is given a scorecard, which will be filled in as they progress along the route. At each designated stop, the participants draw a card at random.  The card drawn is recorded on each participant's scorecard, and the winner of the event is the participant who makes the best five-card poker hand at the end of the event. The winning hand is determined by standard poker hand rankings.

              Poker Run Rules

              • Have fun.
              • Take your time and have fun. This is not a race. There is NO prize for finishing first. Be safe and respectful to other vehicles and participants.
              • Each participant can pre-register at the information booth. Please bring cash, as we do not have interact or credit card capabilities.
              • Participants may purchase multiple hands with no per person limit.
              • Cost per Hand is TBD
              • You must visit the 5 stops listed to get your cards.
              • The winning hand is determined by standard poker hand rankings. There are no wild cards. There are no “5 of a kind” hands.
              • In the event that there is a tie, there will be a draw with highest card (using poker rules) wins.  You must be present to win!
              • If you are playing multiple poker hands, you must give the hand you are playing to the staff at a location in order to draw a card for that hand. You cannot draw a card and then decide which hand to play it in.

              Poker Hand Rankings

              • Royal Flush:   Run of sequential cards from Ten to Ace, with all cards of the same suit.
              • Straight Flush: Run of sequential cards, all cards of the same suit, but not Ace high.
              • Four of a Kind:  Four cards of the same rank e.g. four Aces, four Kings, etc…
              • Full House:  Three cards of the same rank plus a pair, e.g. three Aces and a pair of Kings.
              • Flush:   Five cards all of the same suit. Straight (Run): Five sequential cards, not of the same suit.
              • Three of a Kind:  Three cards of the same rank e.g. three Aces. Three Kings, etc…
              • Two Pair:  Two sets of pairs e.g. a pair of Aces and a pair of Kings. Pair:   Two cards of the same rank e.g. two Aces, two Kings, etc…
              • High Card:  If you have none of the above, then the highest value card in your hand plays.

              Notes:

              • Aces count high for all hands, e.g. a pair of Aces beats a pair of Kings.
              • In a straight, an Ace can count low (e.g. A, 2, 3, 4, 5) OR high (e.g. T, J, Q, K, A) but NOT BOTH (e.g. Q, K, A, 2, 3) is NOT a straight.
              • Prizes are awarded on the poker hand rankings outlined above, not on speed. We want all participants to have fun and remain safe, so please take your time on the run
